Because of the Student Housing requirements that BYU-Idaho has for it's students, The Roost is the perfect for older or married BYU-Idaho students. BYU-Idaho Campus is just over 1/2 mile away. It's about a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive. Plus, the Thomas E. Ricks gardens and the apple orchards are some of the closest things to you at The Roost, so you can enjoy an escape to nature without having to go far!

Speaking of nature, Porter Park is a one of the biggest and greenest parks in Rexburg. At 1/2 mile away, it's just over 10 minutes to get there. Besides grass and trees, Porter Park also offers a playground, splashpad and carousel to satisfy your inner 6-year-old (but let's be honest: who's too old for that stuff anyway?)

Just around the corner from (and really, on your way to) Porter Park is a little strip of stores and restaurants that offers anything your heart could desire. Several food places (including Crumbl Cookie and Five Guys) as well as Deseret Book are within 1/2 mile of the Roost. If you go just a little further, you're close to Sodavine too. No need to go far, especially if you don't have a car!
